I've never actually
watched you hit a ball.
A personal note from Todd Graves about the ten open seats on the Select roster.
I want to point something out, and I don't mean it as a criticism of you or of the program you're already in.
Everything I know about your golf, you told me.
Your check-in is what you noticed that week. The video you send is the swing you chose to film — the angle you picked, on a day you decided was worth recording. Your Elite 8 is your rating of yourself.
None of that is wrong. It's how remote coaching works, and it works. You've got a plan, you've got the calls, you've got people in your corner. Most golfers never get within a hundred miles of that, and you've been doing it for a while now.
But there's a limit built into it, and I'd rather say it out loud.
The thing that would help you most is almost always the thing you didn't think was worth mentioning.
You can't report what you can't feel. Your grip rotates two degrees over a winter. Your setup creeps an inch. Your takeaway shortens. It happens slowly enough that it feels normal the whole way, and it never shows up in a check-in — because from the inside, nothing happened.
I've had students send me clean video for a year while something quietly went sideways in a part of the swing they never thought to point the camera at.
You already know which two of the eight principles are your weakest. You've been staring at those numbers for months. What you've never had is somebody standing three feet away while you try to fix them.
So let me tell you exactly what happens when you come.
Two days at our Performance Center in Oklahoma City. Not a hotel ballroom — our place. The bays, the launch monitors, the putting studio, the short game complex, the clubhouse.
You work with me. Not "the program" — me, in the bay, doing bio measurements and looking at your positions. And Trent, Scott, Tim, Matt and the rest of the Dream Team across the range and the short game. Everybody looks at you. Everybody's notes go in the same file.
We measure all eight principles properly — long game, short game, putting, equipment, course management, practice, mental game, fitness. Nothing gets left behind.
And then before you fly home, you leave with a plan. Your One Thing, and the specific work for the next quarter.
Then you come back — and the first thing we do is measure whether it worked.
That's the part I want you to sit with. Not did it feel better. Did the number move.
Then we build the next plan off what we find. And you go home and work it. And you come back and we measure it again. Four times a year, for as long as you're in this.
That loop is the entire program. Everything else — the facility, the technology, the dinners — is in service of it.
And by the fourth one, your coaches don't need to be reminded who you are. They remember you. They know what you were working on in March and they'll ask you about it in November.
Now let me tell you the part I didn't expect.
Those weekends have turned into some of my favorite days of the year. Not because of the teaching — I teach all the time. Because of the room. A dozen people all pulling the same direction, nobody having to explain themselves to anybody, breaking bread together at the end of a long day on the range.
The friendships that came out of last year reminded me why I got into this in the first place. We push each other. We support each other. We laugh a lot.
And somehow, in that atmosphere, the game gets easier.
You've been on calls all year with people whose faces you know and whose hands you've never shaken. This is where you finally meet them.
I take ten people. I interview every one of them myself, and I do turn people down. Not to be difficult — because I've watched somebody join a year-long program they couldn't actually commit to, and it's bad for them and it's bad for the room.
You're already doing the hard part. You've got the discipline and you've got the plan. This is the one input you've never had.
Apply, and let's have a real conversation about whether this is your year. If it isn't, I'll tell you on the call, and I'll tell you what I'd do instead.
Let's get to work.
Todd GravesGraves Golf Academy · Oklahoma City
About three minutes. Todd reads every application himself.
The loop
Most instruction gives you a few days and sends you home. This is built to compound.
01
Measured
Two days in Oklahoma City. Todd in the bay, the Dream Team across the range and short game. All eight principles measured properly.
02
You leave with a plan
Your One Thing, plus the specific work for the quarter — built off what we actually found, not what you reported.
03
You work it
At home, with your coaches on the calls, knowing exactly what you're being measured on next time.
04
It gets measured again
First thing at the next gathering. Not did it feel better — did the number move. Then we build the next plan.
Four times a year. In November you hold the sheet next to the one from March and there's no interpretation required.
The year has a shape
What actually changes
You keep everything you already have. Level 5 adds the part that can't be done through a screen.
What you have now
- Weekly check-ins
- A coach-built training plan
- Group calls with the team
- Elite 8 — self-assessed
- Remote video review
What Level 5 adds
- Four two-day gatherings at our Oklahoma City facility
- Todd personally, in the bay, plus the full Dream Team
- Elite 8 measured in person every quarter — not self-reported
- You leave with a plan, and it gets measured next time
- A one-on-one with Todd to build your year
- The room, the dinners, and the people
Before you apply
Don't apply if
- You can only make two of the four gatherings a year. You'd get half of it and blame yourself.
- What you want is more coaching volume. You've already got that — this is a different input, not a bigger one.
- Travelling to Oklahoma City eight days a year isn't realistic right now. That's a fine answer, and better said today than in March.
Apply if
- You've been working the plan and something still isn't moving, and you can't put your finger on why.
- You've wondered what a coach would say if he could watch you for two days straight instead of two minutes of video.
- You want the numbers taken properly — not your estimate of them.
Ten seats
The roster is capped at 25. Most of those seats are held by returning members. Ten are open, and this note is going only to Level 4 members.
There's no deadline. Come in whenever you're ready — your year starts at the next gathering, whichever one that is. The only thing you can't get back is the gatherings you sat out.
